Sainte-Maxime is a beautiful Provençal town with a warm character and a full agenda all year round. Organized throughout the year with fun events such as free concerts and shows at the Théâtre de la Mer, feasts in honor of the patron saint of the city, an art festival in October and a Christmas market in December. For sports enthusiasts there are more than enough opportunities to practise sports in the area of Sainte-Maxime: tennis, mountain biking, horse riding and water sports like jet skiing, water skiing and scuba diving. In the hills near Sainte-Maxime there is a 18-hole golf course with stunning views over the Mediterranean sea. The children will enjoy themselves in the various playgrounds and theme parks.

The beaches of Sainte-Maxime are very popular because of their ideal location, facing south and protected from the wind by the mountains. Even the most spoiled beach lovers will enjoy the beaches in the city itself and in the surrounding area. The best beaches are located west of Saint-Maxime, particularly at La Nartelle. After a day of sun, sea and beach it is nice to hang out in the lively center of Sainte-Maxime. The Promenade Simon Lorière offers beautiful views of Saint-Tropez, in the pedestrian part of town you can stroll peacefully along shops, restaurants and terraces. At the old city is the distinctive tower, La Tour Carrée, which was built in the 16th century by monks to protect the city from enemy raids. The tower is now a museum.
